India tests long range N-capable Agni-IV missile

On 20th January, 2014 India tested its long range nuclear-capable surface-to-surface Agni-IV missile from a military base in Odisha. The new generation missile, with a capability to hit targets 4,000 km away, was tested from a mobile launcher about 200 km from the state capital Bhubaneswar. The 20-meter tall missile weighs around 17 tonne and has two stages of solid propulsion. Considered to be one of its kind in the world, the last test conducted from the same defence base in September 2012 had been successful.
